Moreso at a junior level - once you gain experience you’ll want to stay in wtv commodity youre in to capitalise on that knowledge/your connections. I’d say it’s more common to see people move between commodities in the same space (e.g. sugar to cotton or gasoline to jet) that move from one sector to another (e.g. ags to metals)

In my experience, it's quite uncommon for traders to do this.  Even within energy, gas/power to crude/products is nearly unheard of.  And even with crude/products- a small minority of people had experience in one and are now working in the other.

Now, if you are starting out as an analyst and the roles you are moving into don't require a lot of experience, that does happen more.
