Is it okay to ask traders for investment advice?
Through networking, Ive developed some contacts at BB firms in the S&T division. If I have a conversation with them, are they allowed to give me investment advice? Could they be held liable?
Rule # 1: Never follow anyone else's investment advice.
I'm sure they understand their compliance regulations and will know what they can/can't tell you.

How useful would it be, a lot of trading is short term, with positions held for minutes or hours based on technicals. Investing is a long term proposition, you might hold stock for years or decades. What most traders do would match up poorly with an investors interests.
