Is Sales & Trading rapidly dying, and would it be a waste to pursue a career in it?
I have been reading all over the internet that Sales & Trading is on its way out, as many firms are pretty much cutting their division. Is this true, and therefore would it not be wise to pursue a career in it as an undergraduate student?
You would still learn a lot of valuable skills. In many firms, S and T still accounts for a bigger chunk of revenue than IB (look at GS), and won't be obsolete in the next few years. However, you have more narrow exit opps and you're probably better off in IB/Consulting unless you're set on working for a HF
