Late for work as an intern
S&T intern over here having a ton of issues with waking up on early. It's a no brainer I know..... traders need to be at the desk on time. But I'm an idiot that just cant get out of bed, dont even know why. I obviously want to change this and I've tried all the common solutions but still the same issue........ and I end up being a few min late, sometimes more. Its extremely embarrassing and even though I've been told by my team that I do excellent work, this punctuality thing is f*king me up.
Anyone else out there that has an issue with lateness? How did you fix it? Also, curious to know how lateness (I'm talking 5-7 min) is treated on other desks/banks etc.
If you literally can't get figure out how to get to work 5 minutes earlier, you're a moron and you're not getting a full-time offer.

goto sleep an hour earlier....exercise in the evening...exercise in the morning (20-30 min). You should have minimal sociallife...you should be sleeping early.
Set your alarms, phones, laptops on max volume - use the the most obnoxious sound possible. Set it across the room, so you have to get out of bed to turn it off. You can even scatter them around the room or apartment.

i put my phone in a mason jar and screw the ring lid. It's tight enough where I can't pull it out quick and still open so I can hear the alarm. I tend to turn my alarm off right away and fall back asleep and this helped me wake up on time.

That just comes down to discipline and responsibility. There is no excuse for that.
Try waking up half an hour earlier as your morning routine needs more time. I also fucked it up in the past during an internship – But I was working 9am till 00 to 2 AM some days. Still its no excuse for me.
I start at 7am its the worst lol. What happened with you? And are you still working in the same/similar role?
7am for S&T? I was on the desk at 6am sharp last summer. Get your sh*t together. If you want to be there on time, you will be. Figure out if you actually want to be there.

At 7 am, sales and sales trader are already in. The trading desk comes in later depending on which desk you work on. I came in at 7:30 and the research folks were yelling into the mic to the sales folks on their research and I was sitting right by the speaker and I was so livid.
I used to do S&T as well and I'm not an early riser. Get one of those alarm clocks that people who need hearing aid use. I got one from Amazon that shook the entire bed so bad that it was impossible to not wake up. Oh btw, you'll feel like you're waking up in the middle of an earthquake and it's not pleasant at all, so set a calmer alarm 10 minutes earlier.
Make preworkout the night before and set it next to your bed. Set two alarms, one being 30 minutes before you actually need to wake up. When the first one goes off, chug the pre and go back to sleep. It should make you want to get out of bed and you wont need the second alarm.
