Markets and Current Issues

Where/How can I start and where are the best sources in terms of knowing what's going on with the market today and how current issues are affecting it?

I don't have a drop of knowledge on current issues or what's going on with the market, coming from a non-finance background, so everything is incredibly overwhelming to me and I really don't know where to begin.

I have an experienced hire interview coming up with a BB as well, but I did not expect to land an interview this quickly and I just started trying to make this change into finance. I realize my chances may be low for actually landing the job, and even though my resume makes it clear that I don't have any knowledge of the industry, I definitely want to be able to do my best and not come in as a complete fool if they ask me questions about the current going-ons in the market at the interview.
