Moving from Structuring to Sales
For this summer, I have the option of going to a Structuring team as an intern at a prestigious BB. However, I'm afraid that I'll find structuring too technical). Therefore, I'm wondering: how good are the options with moving from structuring to sales? Does it happen?
From structuring into sales? Very rarely happens. If you ever have aspirations on moving to a trading desk, it's far better to be in structuring than sales. Also, I find it hard to imagine you get placed into a structuring team without the technical chops to handle it.
If I understood correctly, in this case, Structuring sits quite close to the sales team & trading team (the quants sit elsewhere). As for technical chops: got them, but don't like using them.
