Moving to Trading from Markets-Based Banking Groups

Hey guys,

I'm doing banking full-time but want to trade full-time. How hard is it to move internally or externally from equity capital markets or debt capital markets to a trading role?

I've heard it's very common in DCM, but haven't heard anything about ECM...

Any thoughts would be great, Yodaddy

Express your interest to those around you. Also, start networking with some people on the trading desk you are interested in. Shouldn't be impossible, but odds are against you. Luck is a huge factor in your situation
