They have a real estate SSG team
I don't know too much about it, I believe that they basically buy distressed RE

I'm specifically interested in their fixed income SSG - is this the SSF you're referring to?
they do have a special situations group, its under fixed income.
Morgan Stanley Special Situations Group (SSG) is responsible for making multi-asset class public and private direct investments in private equity, public credit products, distressed assets and non-performing loans.
As an SSG Analyst, you will work closely with other SSG professionals to identify, evaluate and execute investment opportunities across the capital structure and to monitor the performance of SSG portfolio. This includes conducting fundamental industry research, company credit analysis and valuation, as well as business and financial due diligence on private equity transactions.
