Need Series 65 for S&T?
For Sales - would you need a Series 65 (Investment Adviser Representative) since you are giving advice to buy side clients and giving advice to bank customers?
I've heard a couple of people going into S&T for summer positions at BB's saying they won't be able to do anything because they don't have their licenses yet. Is this accurate?

i mean, what did you expect to do for the summer? advise clients on long/short positions? execute trades on behalf of billion dollar clients? lets be real here, even if you were technically allowed to, would these clients even take you seriously?
For s&t summer positions, you learn what the day-to-day is like, learn how the job is done efficiently. you do industry research, presentations, etc. your job for the summer is to get a FT offer, not to advise clients. There is still plenty of stuff you can do.
Tekno - I meant if you do actually get a FT position, would you need a license?
