Nonprofit Internship

Background: I’m an incoming sophomore at a non target, Econ major, D1 athlete, 3.2 GPA, (I’m confident my GPA will be above cutoffs by the time of interviews) and would like to work in S&T or Real Estate.

I looked at a couple nonprofit posts, but couldn’t find anything with regards to how nonprofit experience is viewed by banks? A lot of posts made nonprofits sound weak, but I thought they would have been respected.

If I worked for a nonprofit it would be next summer, and hopefully I would have something lined up for summer of 2024.

Would working at a nonprofit even in a finance capacity be worse than working at a wealth manager or something similar next summer?

Any thoughts would be helpful, Thanks!
