Possible to break into S&T as a jobless 26 year-old?

Hi readers,

Would really appreciate some advice, my situation is as follows; two years gap year in college playing poker, went back to school and changed my major which costed me another 1.5years. I will graduate in December with one relevant internship on my resume in 2023. Lately I finally found the motivation and courage to take hold of my own life, and I'm considering several career paths, including S&T. It would take a few months for me to self-learn the material and practice my interviews before I put in any job applications. For context I went to USC for my undergrad, currently residing in NYC.
