Power Trader Role, Progression & Salary

What is the average outlook in terms of Power Trader roles within power companies like Enel, EDF, E.ON, etc. in terms of the starting salary? How does one progress in the role and how does the salary follow?

Also, how long would it roughly take for someone in a support role, such as a Power Scheduler, to transfer into a power trader role?

All of this is regarding the UK specifically (and the rest of Europe as well).
