I am an incoming MSc Finance student and would then like to go into Sales and Trading, any advice on what i should do over summer in order to make my September applications stand out? Any courses that i should do? Should i learn python?

1) Python + Excel / VBA
2) data science (Machine Learning / Neural Nets / Statistics)
these can be learned easily from free/cheap video courses (its all for free on youtube if you spend the time to look...also Coursera or Udemy if you need a little more hand holding)
I landed 2 BB S&T offers without knowing python or coding. Just make sure you can talk about the markets (beyond the basics) and most importantly have your own views that are well thought out (aka not just parroting what you are reading on bloomberg / CNBC)
