Productive use of my time
I recently graduated college and I'll be starting work at a bank in the summer. I'll like to move into S&T within the bank (I'm not in S&T but something related). Is there anything I can do to help my chances? I've cold called a few boutiques for s&t internships but nothing so far. I could take the CFA level 1 exam in June 1. I could start trading and open my own account. I would rather not start early yet. What do you guys suggest?
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that you missed the cutoff for paying for the CFA Level I exam. They have significantly increased prices. I personally don't think that the CFA would necessarily help for an S&T role as it would for a role in asset management or equity research. Best of luck!

Just to make sure: you are asking what to do before your SI in that bank? What are you currently studying/working on ?
When you say "something related" to S&T, are you talking MO/BO?
Well, if you have a job.....
Drink, Travel, F*ck everything that moves
I don't think the CFA will really help you that much. I would say trading your own account, and building your own "track record" could be helpful as long as you have the money to do it, and are successful.
