Quant Salaries

S&T salaries and bonuses are assigned to good traders who have a large profit on the books, etc. and IB make good salaries/bonuses from working hard on deals, etc. How are quant bonuses and such assigned? As is there a ceiling on quant salary at a BB?

60k-100k minimum not including bonus depends on what kind what shop etc etc some places make you sign wavers though saying you won't work in finance if you leave

remember though you usually need a math/ comp sci degree(double major if you can keep gpa up) and will be asked some rough math questions

there are few kinds of quants so depends

jamarWell,

My professor, who is a quant (dual finance/math PHD), consults for BB's. He's well known- says that to be a quant, you need a PHD. If you have an MFE, you can READ reports/strats, but you can't WRITE them. IS what he said, whether he meant the BB"s don't let you, etc, idk.

I'm a quant for a pretty well know shop and only have a bachelors. I've met quants with just bachelors at quite a few places, and at various levels from analyst to MD.
