Question for all the Schedulers - Do you like your Job?

Currently working for a large midstream O&G company in Canada, they've got a few scheduler roles open focused on transporting crude oil. Was wondering if it's a role worth getting into? Is it lucrative? are you content with your job? Aside from your usual trader route, where else could I end up? FYI I do have commercial experience at a major trading firm from before.

Scheduling is cool and fun. Depends on how much physical your scheduling and how much value you can add to the trading desk via optimization and little tricks that only schedulers know.

It's external facing which is a plus and a natural transition to trading. It still amazes me how some physical traders have never scheduled a day in their life.

I had some of the most fun when I scheduled and also learn the most..... its a good gig if you want to be a trader and even if you don't learning to move product from A to B is a valuable skill to learn in the phy space

a fun interview question was if you could wheel power from PJM to ERCOT...short answer is yes.. long answer is why would you do that and its has a high % of being cut anyway ...
