Questions for people who trade for a living.

I am currently 17 years old and I am thinking about becoming a stock trader. If anyone who does trade for a living, may I ask a few questions?

1. Is there any indicators that you like to use or are you a simple price action/ support & resistance trader?

2. When people ask you about your job what is their main reaction?

3. Do you think there is a future in stock trading?

Thanks.

every security trades differently....some tend better to mean reversion....others to range breakouts...others to a series of trends.

first learn your market, then apply the appropriate tools to that market.

why stocks?  why not interest rates, or FX or commodities or credit?

which stocks...there are thousands?

there are many books to read, and videos to watch...it will take you many years to learn it all...perhaps you focus on one very small segment of the market, which is fine, but then understand that you must learn EVERYTHING THERE IS TO BE LEARNED...and this is not a short journey...and still no guarantee of success....you might just lose lose lose and then have no skills for a 2nd career.

all that said, i like using renko charts...look for smallest increment where you can still see patterns in the charts
