Reading the Signs

Applied to CS equity Deriv trading etc etc. Did final rounds. Waiting around to hear back this week.

From many past rejections, ive sorted notice that HR's response to your emails either flat out don't come or the lag time increases (if you didn't get the job.)

Any one experience this sh*t? Or am i just being paranoid.

In my particular case, i emailed HR day1: no response. Called HR day 3 but was was told he/she had to run to a meeting. Next day, HR didn't bother emailing back or calling

You are right... At least from my exp in IBD... the longer it takes... the thinner your chances...

But hey! I have head of (very few) friends or ex-colleagues that the opposite can be true...

Keep the fingers crossed and keep applying.

It took me more than 3 weeks to hear back from one bank with an offer...

I would definitely agree that the longer it takes the more likely it is youre getting dinged but it's definitely not an absolute rule. Also, try not to pester them. if they're on the fence about you and want to see how you compare to everyone else that comes through, i can't imagine that annoying them will help your situation
