Recommended projects to practice before S&T internship in VBA/Python?
Any recommendations on what I should be doing - like what kind of projects I'll be doing during the internship? Knowledge is basic

curious to know as well. Would also love to know how to maximize chances of getting return offer.
teach yourself pandas and numpy in Python. maybe take a large data set such as historical stock price and try to create your own analysis of the data
this was literally just a suggestion of 2 important libraries to learn for data analysis in python & a large enough data set you could practice on to become comfortable with using them...
Lol will we even have time to do coding projects this summer - we have like a week on each rotation...
Don’t listen to that guy. Coding will not help your internship unless you’re on a desk like credit indices or something. The desk will train you and assign you ad hoc projects. Rest up in the meantime, and focus on putting 100% effort once the internship starts.

i'd say that half the S&T desks will have value from a programming background/ability....and the other half won't.
However, zero desks will see this knowledge and ability as a downside...there is only upside learning to code.
Also, you should be following markets and market news. Follow zerohedge on twitter while watching the markets (S&P futures, Treasury Bond Futures, Crude Oil, Gold). Read everything they post, and if you don't understand something, go use google to learn about it. This will be a fulltime job for most students as there is so much to learn.
any advice on how to beat get a return offer as a summer analyst?
depends on the desk
