Salary for physical commodities
What is the ideal salary range for a physical commodity trader in the NY area? I feel very underpaid at 120k, with target bonus 10% and no commission.

Career Resources
Salary sound about right assuming your less than 5-8 years in your career. Target bonus sounds like a normal corporate bonus
What product do you trade and what type of trading is it? Bonus seems very very low if you are in a risk taking seat (assuming you’re making decent pnl)
I’m in ags. Right?! My friends are making 180k+ base as starting salary in Accenture or Deloitte and we all went to grad school together. Even tech sales pays a lot more. Love my job but starting to question if it’s worth it
You could try to lateral out to an energy shop as they pay much better. If you have any soybean or corn experience then they’d definitely give you a look since a lot of shops are increasing biofuel exposure. Soybean experience is especially valuable
Agree, I'm at a major and our ever expanding renewables desk is basically half agri trading.
Do you have your own book? What is your/your group's mandate? Base sounds ok, it's the bonus here that doesn't line up.
That's very low. Bonus should be in the 100%+ range
