Sales and Trading Full time Analyst

I have recently been invited to a full time superday for a position on an equity sales desk. I have no idea what types of questions I should be studying for. I am thinking it is going to be very different that a typical ib interview. Less technical more brain teasers?

Any good websites to help study?

Sales may tend to run a little less technical and more behavioral, so really be prepared on those questions and demonstrate how you've followed the markets. You may or may not get a pitch question, but definitely be prepared to talk about the indices and where you see them heading/why?

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

yep, equity sales is typically divided by industries on the desk so if you happen to know a bit about a few industries and major companies in each, you'd probably have more to talk about with your interviewers. Not really a quant role, but I would practice some mental math since it's unlikely for you to get hardcore probability questions.

Is this at a BB? If so, pm me if you'd like more details on certain BB's...

Do equity sales really pitch ideas to clients though? I mean, these clients are large institutions which know their shit. I sat on a credit sales desk and they told me that this whole idea of pitching to clients in institutional sales is a myth. Can anyone elaborate on this?

They also said that they dont just get handed equity research reports like some people think.

i think they're just constantly speaking to clients and taking their orders, and giving their opinions to clients on the general colour of the market. So all in all, its not about pitching new trade ideas really...
