Sales and Trading to DCM
I am a first year MBA student and I have a summer internship in Sales and Trading at a BB. What are my chances of getting a full time job in DCM? If I do an internship in S&T does it still leave my options open for other roles in a BB or will I have to take up a full time job in only S&T?

If your firm loves you you can most likely switch. But why? DCM = lower pay and longer hours. But busting your balls aside, I know people who have done it. I had a friend from my b-school class who did an IB internship, got a full-time offer, and then told the firm he hated IB and would only accept the offer if he could get DCM or S&T. He ended up pulling it off. But I'd get the full-time offer first, because I've seen people bring this up early in the summer then get shafted.
I am currently interning at UBS in the Wealth Management department. I want to eventually get into S and T and am wondering how to make this switch.

These questions should be asked within the company. Not here on a message board. Anything is possible, its just that simple.
The questions you guys are asking are not long shots. It depends on openings and so forth.

So, how common is it for an associate, senior associate or VP in S&T to switch into ECM/DCM at some point? Is it done often? Is there a transferrable skill set? Is this more common at certain banks than others?

Work on actual deals, develop more of a managerial work set, layoffs less often since you cover a few industry verticals...
Laterals happen more often then MBA new hires.
so it's totally feasible to work in S&T for x years and then make the case for a CM gig...?
