Sales in S&T???

How exactly does pursuing a career in sales within S&T work out? For example, if one gets an S&T SA internship, how do they decipher/let them know you’re more interested in the sales side? When you apply to S&T internship, does it matter which you’re interested in?

S&T internship programs are either rotational or you’re placed on one desk. If the latter, it’s your responsibility to network with other desks and get a feel for their various cultures and businesses. I’m assuming there are check ins with HR and also your desk manager(s) throughout the process in which you let them know what products and roles you are interested in.

It doesn’t really matter which you’re interested in prior to the internship, but if you have a strong preference you should be able to back up why that is. If you say your preference is sales please don’t give “I want to be client facing” as your reason.
