Sports Trading Career

This is a long shot, but can anyone works in the sports trading industry share their experience? Just wondering how to get into the Sports trading industry; i have s&t internship experience and math degree, how can i make myself better suited for those jobs? I know that most of the jobs are in Europe (Malta, London). Are there any prop shops that have an analyst program? Or any bookmakers out there? I know Betfair has a graduate scheme.

Even if I will be backtesting systems and automating them? Surely there's some value to that, even if it means having to learn another asset class from scratch. The skills are the same. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Why is trading different asset classes considered not-doable? I realize they behave differently and have their own nuances, but is it different to the point that it's prohibitive?

Yeah I'm very aware of the smaller market and lower liquidity (and therefore greater chances of arbitrage). But please help a newb out, why is that a bad thing with regards to skills transfer (backtesting systems)?

If X years down the road, I put this on my resume, take it to a prestigious securities shop, will they shun it? Granted lack of experience trading equities, but certainly positive experience coming up with successful trading strategies must be valuable in the trading world anywhere. I'm stuck on this part - why isn't the ability to come up with successful trading systems valuable regardless of asset class? Please help a newb out sir.

I have indeed. A kid from my high school and my math teacher are the co-creators. The math teacher is a damn genius and I would trust this site 100%. Props to my high school alum !
