S&T Analyst Training Period

What does the training period look like for S&T analysts? Is it desk specific? Do BB firms go into financial modeling? Excel? Or is this a time to simply pass your series exams? I am an incoming analyst and want to get a sense of what the first few weeks/ months look like, specifically within a BB firm. Thank you

I'm also an incoming S&T analyst and I believe it's mostly to pass series exams. They'll go over the basics of financial concepts as well as Excel/PPT/Bloomberg as not everyone is a finance/accounting/econ major (a history major would have to learn all of this from scratch). It's a pretty laid back time where a lot of interns go out, network, and socialize before they hit the desks. Obviously, COVID-19 will change all of that as I assume most banks are shifting to virtual training until the situation subsides.
