Structuring and Trading roles in investment bank: clarifications
My understanding of structuring and trading roles at investment bank are as follow:
Structuring: Discuss with clients and understand their needs. According to their needs, come out with (structure) bespoked products(eg , spread, combinations) for hedging purposes.
Trading: Mostly: market making: quote buy and ask for financial products to the clients. May also take position according to the market views
Sales: Pitch investment ideas to the clients.
Anyone can add on the job scopes/correct me if I am wrong? Are the above roles described correctly?
Thank you.
