Summer intern: JPM Private Bank v.s Barclays SnT
Fortunately I got summer intern offers from JPM private bank and Barclays SnT, now kinda struggling between these two offers.
SnT certainly provides a steeper learning curve and the knowledge/skills I will learn is probably more sophisticated . But JPM is surely better in terms of bank development and reputation.
Anyone can offer some insights? Is it better to start my career in SnT rather than pb? Thanks a lot.
Well which area do you prefer to work in? That would be my first question.. we need background
I prefer a client-facing + market facing role. So if I go for SnT, I will probably develop as a sales whereas in pb, I will become an investor.
I don't have a strong preference because both jobs are client facing and offer me exposure to the markets...
These are two totally different fields.
What do you want to do?
What does your gut tell you about the people you interviewed with? (They are probably very different people.)
The struggling is that I do not have a strong preference over the roles because both jobs are client facing and offer me exposure to the markets.
My interviewers from the banks felt quite similar.....sales-type people.
How do you hold your liquor?
Are the exit opps for private banking limited compared to market sales?
private banking is all sales...
