Tier 4 IB or Lower BB Trading?

Have an offer for IB at a non-American balance sheet bank without much of an IB presence in the US. Some recent deals but nothing eye catching. Also have an offer from a non-American bank for trading that has a couple of good desks. My goal is to try for private equity or if not then private credit might be more attainable. Main question is how attainable is a good desk placement/moving into a hedge fund seat from trading? Would I be able to go to buyside or lateral in IB? From target with high gpa and test scores if relevant.
