Tips for getting first round interview at quant trading firms?

I am very new to this website. Just want to preface this post by saying that I do not feel as if I deserve a job at these top quant trading firms, but I would like to think I have what it takes to make it to the first stage...

My question is, what can I do to improve my chances of getting a first-round interview at quantitative trading firms? Are there certain extra projects I can work on? Maybe extra skills I can learn? Blogs I can read/YouTube channels to follow to improve?
