top BB corporate role vs MM S&T role?

Question for you all: If I got an offer as an analyst for a good role (think S&T) at a MM bank but am currently employed at a top BB bank in a corporate role, is it worth it to move? In other words, how much does a bank name matter especially if you’ve done 1 year at a top BB? Pros of top BB, middle office role: great hours, less stress, better quality of life, big bank means better mobility opps, excellent name on resume, analytical work, job security Cons: (relatively) low comp, less challenging, tough to break into FO role Pros of top MM, S&T role: higher comp, good exit opps, (maybe) a lot of growth opportunity since bank is growing Cons: more stress, more hours, quicker & higher layoffs in bad markets/economy

Would love to get your views on this.

i mean it really depends on your end goal...if you really enjoy trading/want to make more money...you are going to be very unsatisfied throughout your life doing whatever MO corporate stuff that youre doing. if you like the hours, making (im assuming) good money, and having the better work/life balance, than you should probably stick right where you are.

but the bottom line IMO is that you'll be very depressed after 10+ years of doing shit that you hate...

LeveRAGE said it best, go with what you ultimately have more interest in. Plus you will still have your BB role to put on your resume.
