Top US Power Trading Firms?
Hi all - trying to learn more about US Power Trading. Is there anywhere I can go which lists out the top firms or provides a ranking or directory? Not even sure where to start to understand the landscape of the space, thanks!
IIRC Cargill is very strong in the NorthEast, fwiw. You should look at utilities, the typical trading houses (vitol, BPs of this world). BBs are also active in power I believe (though not sure you want to be in BB commos atm), so are a few HFs à la Citadel and DRW.
Cargill is now Macquarie . Noble is now Mercuria. If your just starting out you prob want to go to a shop that has phys assets. I believe platts Megawatta daily had a ranking a few years (i want to say 2014) back of biggest phys players in each market, that would be a good place to start
