we all want to live the LA lifestyle making NYC cash, as my "name" implies, I am an LA transplant... fucking sucks.
So...there are successful trading desks in LA?

theHam1, mate, I live in OC We have Pimco in Newport Beach You can also find buy side firms in LA area, but dont expect any sell side desk in Socal

TheHam1, NY is not that bad.. my first impression was not that good, i missed socal, but later the city grows on you! you can walk everywhere, there's everything for everyone there! OK.. i dont work for NY tourism
buysude pay is not so great, at least, LA buyside -think 'mutual,' not 'hedge'...
I was being sarcastic with "suffer" - but only a little...
L.A. - cheaper cost of living and I believe I would prefer the girls. I'm used to the SoCal dolled-up J.A.P.'s on the beaches of the OC...tall, athletic surfer girls...tans...bikini's...girls who have been driving Benz's since they were 16.
That's hard to leave, in my opinion.
