Trading interviews: no technicals, how do they really decide?
I had a superday for a summer position at a BB for FI Sales and Trading recently and none of the candidates were asked any technical questions. I was wondering how they REALLY decide who to give offers to if they seemingly don't care about grades or market knowledge at this point. Do they just decide solely on fit and personality? Should I go for more small talk rather than driving the interview towards talk about the markets?
how much they like you; sorry bro if you get rejected they just didn't like you enough. you might think it's unfair but remember when they are the interviewer they are god. gl tho
Depends on the desk, product and the interviewer. But yah some people are 100% fit. Seriously everyone interviewed is going to have a great resume, grades and kill most technicals either way so why ask.
Likability is always number one wherever you go
