Transition from BoC to trading in BB

I've recently been presented an opportunity to work as a research analyst at Bank of Canada, which is Canada's central bank (equivalent to Fed in the US). I wonder what is the exit opportunity for this role at BoC? Originally, I wanted a S&T position (particularly a trading position) at BB. Do you think it will be easy to get into S&T after working as a research analyst at BoC for one or two years? If direct transition to trading is difficult, maybe BoC experience will help me to get into Equity Research first and then possibly trading after. Another option I'm thinking is to pursue Master of Finance at one of the recognized university in the states after BoC, that will open more doors to S&T later on? My question is should I take this opportunity or keep on looking for trading positions at prop trading firms?
