Where to Work in Trading this Summer?

Hi,

I am going to be working as a summer analyst at a BB firm in NYC come June. I know that I will be working in Fixed Income Sales and Trading, and I have been keeping track of the markets very closely. Still, I am just a Junior in college and need all the help I can get. Does anyone have any advice/predictions on which areas will be the most interesting and exciting this summer?

I am a Mathematics and Economics double major, so I am not afraid of anything technical, though I also do not want to be pigeon-holed into an area where I won't interact with tons of people all day, as I am very sociable and very interested in networking thoroughly this summer. Thanks for any help you can give.

I assume you'll have a rotation... although it's neither the sexiest nor the most mathematically complex, I'd definitely make one of the rotations w/ a rates desk.

can be pretty complex actually.

as complex as pretty much anything out there. many of the top quants are focused on rate and rate hybrid modelling.
