Which Choice to Make?
I posted this in Ibanking discussion also, figured I should post it here too.
Which is a better choice for a summer internship in NYC (im interested in trading):
-Brown Brothers Harriman trading internship
or
-Barclays Capital risk management internship and then get to know some traders at Barcap and try to make the move into trading for full time
Is it even possible to move from a risk management internship to a full time trading job?
My reasoning for Barclays is because it is more prestigious.
FYI
i heard the way it works with barclays internship program is that u do ur internship then get an FT offer (90%ish do). in order to interview for a different barclays div u have to give up the offer from div where u interned.
bump
how is the ft offer structured, desk specific or pool?
not sure, would I have an easier time moving to FT trading if it is pool structured?
obviously
the barcap interns/FT analyst hires i know knew what desks they were on FT...
so which internship would you guys rather do?
if it's pool, ie you will just be getting a general barclay's offer, i'd do that
