2 questions - VC "Finance & Accounting Team" Analyst
(1) Do BO/MO roles like this typically get a piece of the carry?
(2) What's the likelihood I can make the jump from this team to a FO investment selection/management role?

Career Resources
1) No 2) Very low
1) No 2) I would say that's definitely not happening. From an investment team's point of view -- and the vast majority of the partners that drive recruitment strategies are in the investment team aka front office -- you're immediately pigeonholed and that alone will make it really difficult to transfer. Also, investment teams hire from top backgrounds (MBB, IB, outstanding startup experience, for example) and if you're coming from those areas, you'd very likely not look into BO/MO.
I think as often rightfully repeated on WSO: there are no shortcuts to success. You got to pay your dues unless you're extremely lucky. I wouldn't feel comfortable planning my career on luck alone, so go work hard to position yourself for a route into VC FO.
