Alternative paths into VC from working at a tech startup?

Hi all, so I am a recent graduate and I did a BB internship this past summer in IB, I didn’t get a return offer then spent the next few months trying to secure a role to no avail or in some cases was about to start a VC internship before the company had issues with setting up in my country.

I felt A little defeated because I really did try but secured an operational role at a tech startup. I wanted to know if working at a startup with a internship in finance would be helpful in trying to secure a VC role after I have gained more experience.

I just started the pay is good but I guess since it wasn’t my dream job to be at a startup it has me feeling a bit worried.
