CAIA vs CFA for VC/PE

Hi fellows!

I'm a French student, on the way to get a master degree only in a few months and with the will to work in the VC world. I already got a long internship at PwC for 26 months as a financial auditor but I'd like to add a certification to learn more about investments and add value on my resume to work for VC funds.

I have a lot of friends preparing the CFA and I know it has more recognition than CAIA but with my wish to work for a VC fund, do you think it is necessary to get my CFA first or can I just go for CAIA (which looks more specific for VC/PE) ? Do we learn way fewer things with CAIA or do we have still a wide view of the financial area with it (I already have a good background with financial statements analysis thanks to my internship) ?

Maybe the question was already asked on this forum, but I think it could be interesting to have an update of the recognition of the CAIA in 2015.

Thanks in advance for your answers!
