Hi all. I cold emailed a post-MBA Associate at a $2Bn life sciences fund to ask for a HR contact, and she wants to chat directly in person. I'm not sure what to expect - any thoughts from those who have been on either side of the table?
It's something I'm very interested in, and I don't want to go in unprepared.

Research some of the recent deals the company has been in and ask some questions about those. Ask her about her particular path and what made her interested in the life science industry etc. keep it casual.

Suit or no? We're just meeting at a cafe.
I did something similar and had on a navy suit but took off the tie before I left my office. He wore a designer sweater over a button down, designer jeans, and a modern watch.
I'm not sure if any of it mattered, hah
Most VC's don't wear suits (in fact they dress down usually) so I'd say a suit is overkill for a coffee meeting. Blazer + slacks should be more than sufficient...you could probably even get away with jeans + blazer
