College Junior asking for advice on GE FT
Hi! College junior from a target who is thinking about aiming for a top GE firm that works in Series B/C onward for FT(thinking something like Insight).
However, I didn't recruit for finance and I struck out on MBB for junior summer. In the past, I've interned for a VC (small early-stage) and a well-backed seed-stage startup. Was interested in the early-stage space for a while, but now I'm thinking that it would be more helpful to have a role that has at least 'somewhat' transferable technical skills. Definitely, partially regretting not doing the IB process, but just wondering what I could do my junior summer to best set me up for this goal. Here are my current options (this is just what I'm thinking)
-
Work for a T2 Consulting firm next summer.
-
Continue to pitch myself to early-stage startups and VCs.
-
Work for a smaller GE firm that still has their recruitment process open.
Would love to hear any feedback on the viability of the paths I'm seeking. Although it might sound weird, I'm most confident on finding a position at a startup or VC (even though they have highly unstructured processes) just because that's what I've done in the past. Thanks!
