Distressed Investing to Growth Equity

Is it possible to make this transition? I’ve seen distressed investors move over to the credit arms of some GE firms like Summit but is it possible to move over to the growth fund from distressed PE/HF or are they just too unrelated?

Thanks.

Highly unrelated... and would be a tough sell during interviews. Not impossible.
