Interviewed for their Chicago VC arm in the past. Very small team (I think it's only like 1-3 ppl), and is just as focused on the deal structuring part of VC as the sourcing/DD part. Understand term sheet & cap table basics for interviews. Mostly invests in softwares impacting the finTech landscape.
bump. anyone currently in the process willing to talk? made it past the technical assessment and am now meeting the "team" (2 people). hr wasn't very informative on what to expect for this upcoming round.
Hey! I know this was a while ago but I have my technical interview coming up for DRW VC- just curious what kind of questions they asked you? Would really appreciate any help
If you're looking to get into fintech venture/growth, would avoid - learning the business is all about osmosis and it's difficult to get it from 1-2 senior folks with a team that's high turnover. In other words, could be an interesting platform if you think being a venture investor within a large HFT fund is your calling, but as an analyst/associate would seek out a place that has a record of hiring and training junior folks and/or is a reputable standalone fund
Separately - deal structuring has no real value-add in venture; in true growth PE where funds are flexible on ownership and primary/secondary, there are true returns created via structure as you're structuring a private equity transaction (often majority) just where topline growth is the driver of returns vs. an LBO, but in most other situations, network/market perspective trump as a venture investor
