Exit Options for VC Professionals

I’m an undergrad interested in getting into VC after graduation, but I’m trying to get a clearer picture of what the typical exit opportunities look like for early- or mid-career investors (other than joining a portfolio company).

Are there common paths people take when they leave VC? And are those options still realistic in today’s slower market? Most of what I’ve read suggests things have tightened up, so I’d love to hear what’s actually happening on the ground.
