Financial Advisor to Venture Capitalist

I am currently a young independent FA looking to get into VC at a smaller city (Louisville is a top choice, as is Cincinnati- I like smaller cities).  I think it is a really non monetary rewarding career helping people.  

I have been on LinkedIn reaching out to VC guys in those areas and I already have some phone calls set up. It is more of a "meet & greet," but still a big deal.  

Any other advice you would give me?  I am expecting this process to take time. Be honest please.
