don't know them well but know people that work w/them. in my limited discussion w/those people, only positive things to say about Formation 8.

they have raised a good amount of money the last few years and believed they might have just closed their 3rd fund (don't quote me on that). the senior people are well-known in the space. in particular, they have strong Asia connections (e.g., one of the founders is part of the family that founded LG in Korea).

don't know about their culture but my impression is that they are perceived as one of the up and coming VC firms right now.

Hi on the road,

Thanks, yeah I read that they just closed a 3rd fund recently. Seems quite exciting, they invested in quite a few futuristic tech and they don't have as a strict mandate as other funds.

I don't see a lot of juniors in the team profile, do you know how is the team structure - top or bottom heavy? Do they tend of hire ex bankers or certain kind of candidates?
