Going from Venture Capital to PE?
I have an internship this summer in Venture Capital and they are willing to offer me an associate position right out of Undergrad if I perform well and are a fit to their company. I am assuming the salary would be around 70-90k+ for such job, but I know it’s a hard industry to become partner in... is it possible to work a few years in VC and then move to PE? Would a PE firm hire someone who did not work in IB?
Depends on the VC firm/strategy. If you're investing in early-stage companies it's nothing like PE. If it's Series B and on...that is more similar to PE.
IB is a safer route if you're gunning for PE.
