Growth Equity Analysts (1st and 2nd years) - how much do you make?
Hello all, just received an offer to work at a growth fund FT next year and just have no sense about whether my pay is line with market. I'll be making $115k all in next year (fund size <$800M). Wondering if anyone would be willing to share the size of the fund they work at and how much their first/second year compensation was.
Sounds about right for your fund size. I'm an associate now at one of the MF's with growth arms (think KKR, Apax, Bain Cap, Permira) and believe analysts at these places make north of $150K. However talking to friends at smaller funds, $100K-130K is typical.
Curious about As1/As2 as well if you dont mind sharing
As2 I have no idea as I am an As1 :)
At the places I mentioned, my guess would be A1: ~150-170K, A2: 200-220K, first year associate: $250-300K.
At a tier 2 smaller fund progression would likely look the same just ~30-60K less at each position
How common is the A2A promotion for MF Growth Analyst programs? What are your thoughts on these opportunities vs a mid-tier BB? Traditionally, MF would be the no-brainer, but have heard a lot say to do IB and the go to growth because of the sourcing heavy nature of analyst programs.
Its essentially the same amount of sourcing at the associate level.
