Growth Equity - Day to Day Work

What is the day to day life as an analyst in Growth Equity (750+MM AUM)? Curious to understand what the job would entail. How much is just trying to source different investments vs modeling, research market dynamics, competitors, etc?

1. Open laptop

2. Read newsletters check news

3. Reply to emails from blasts from the night / weekend before and deal related emails

4. back to back to back calls with potential targets that you set up via cold calls

5. Get yelled at by a random CEO for harassing with email blasts

6. Dick around with other analysts

7. Spend late afternoon/early evening going through emails and checking with deal team of deals that are being diligences / you sourced

8. Follow up with any specific companies per request from deal team

9. Eat dinner / gym

10. Research more industries / dig out more names / find contacts and blast out emails to 200 targets 

11. Go to bed thinking about fat bonus checks you would get from sourcing a deal and remind yourself that sourcing is better than banking and that you should learn some execution/modeling somewhere along the way if you want to make a career out of investing 

12. Wake up and rinse and repeat

13. Have some sort of an existential crisis every once in a while during long periods of sourced deals dying
