How likely is BB S&T -> MBA -> PE/VC route?

So I am doing my 2nd year in BB S&T and I feel I am stuck at where I am.. Back in my college, I did not know what I wanted to do exactly and the aspect of work-life balance attracted me to S&T. But now I am realising this is not exactly what I want to be doing for the rest of my life and I want a change in my career preferably to PE/VC or maybe HF. Therefore, considering the MBA option.

The problem is - It seems like pre-MBA experience is actually pretty important for post-MBA recruitment.. And someone without pre-MBA PE/VC experience, it seems like it is hard? or impossible? to break into PE/VC post-MBA.

I have been trying to apply for some VC jobs but I have not been successful and I feel like I am stuck at where I am.

What do you guys think of BB S&T -> MBA -> PE/VC route? I am even thinking of applying for a grad FT programmes for BB IBD again for a fresh start if S&T -> MBA -> PE/VC route does not really make sense..

I know people who have lateraled from S&T to IB. After that, try to get into PE. That is a better bet than getting an MBA and trying to get into PE afterwards.

Apparently post-MBA PE slots are hyper competitive. Tons of people start their MBA with two years of IB and two years of PE experience, and not all of those guys will be able to land a PE job after graduating - there just aren't enough spots.

Anything -> top 15 MBA -> IB is very common. I can’t comment on post MBA IB to buy side though. It’s possible but not super common I hear
